I just saw this movie and I enjoyed it.

First off, it should not have been rated R. There's no foul language (except for the word "hell" said three times and the word "tramp", no nudity, and but there is violence but not an abundance of it. PG-13 would have sufficed.

The story seems a bit weak, but "reading between the lines," theres a good story and message to the film. The Gospel is presented in the movie if you read into the storyline, but it isn't "preached" to you. The Christian elements presented to the viewers come from the gospel book of John.

The movie is based off Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti's book, House. The movie follows along with the book pretty well. Though, the movie is a bit more fast-paced than the book, and leaves out things, but theres no major changes from the book and the movie, EXCEPT for the ending. The ending is changed, however, the new ending is actually what Ted Dekker originally wanted, but Frank Peretti didn't. It's a good ending, though.

Acting was good, but not outstanding. The visual effects were GREAT for a low budget film. The camera angles were pretty good for a horror-type movie. Some of the shots were unique.

I just wished the movie was a bit longer!

If you enjoyed the movie, you should read the book. The book goes into more detail of the story and descriptions of the setting.

Enjoy!
