"Gracie" is based on true events in the life of co-star Elisabeth Shue, who tried out for her high-school boys soccer team in the 1970's. The film is a feel-good sports drama with an inspirational message for girls. If you liked "Bend It Like Beckham" and/or "She's the Man", you will love this movie. Carly Schroeder kicks grass, Dermet Mulroney is a sensitive manly man, and Elisabeth Shue is as lovely as ever.
"Gracie" is a family affair. Carly's brother Hunter co-stars, for example. Elisabeth's brother Andrew co-wrote the story and plays a coach. And two of the producers were Andrew and Elisabeth Shue. |
