Forget what their critics say, the Dixie Chicks are the only arbiters of free speech in our time. They spoke out against the war at a time when President Bush still had sky high approval ratings and they refused to back down despite how unpopular their statements were. This isn't just a film about their struggles, but about the consequences of dissent in a time when it is badly needed. Even if you're not a fan of their music, you must go see this movie to support the message--free speech is still at risk in this country. |
