Yep I liked the idea of vampires in Alaska where the nights can go on for days or in this case 30 of them. BUT after reading the graphic novel, watching the "blood trails" mini serial on fearnet, and reading articles in trade mags like Fangoria I've gotta say something was missing.
Its like trying to explain the color red to someone. You know what red is, but describing is another matter altogether. Well that's what's wrong with this movie.
Loved the vampire designs, manureisms (heh, manure), and the fact that these things were disgusting, not something that would be considred beautiful like Lestat, Louis, or Armand. I even like Josh Hartnett as the sheriff.
BUT and its a mighty big but, something just wasn't there. Wish I could say what it was exactly, but ... |
