I haven't disliked a movie as much as this one in decades. The premise is novel, but that's about it- a vampire free-for-all in a community that endures 30 days of night. The characters are incredibly weak. The vampires and their slave are supposed to be creepy, but comes off as cheesy. The movie rolls along with no explanation, like how did that weirdo slave steal so many cell phones?!? Are people prone to leaving them somewhere? If that's the case, why have a cell phone? Or are we supposed to believe that weirdo got close enough to pick pocket them?!? No way! Doesn't matter. No one cares. It's riddled with continuity errors. Characters hear guns shots when none have occurred yet and other stupid mistakes. Are we to believe one can detonate a half case of TNT at your feet and survive? WTF? Talk about cliche, hasn't the psycho kid been done a million times... 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead remake, and just about every other infectious blood movie. Ugh, I'm suffering just thinking about the movie as I write this. Do yourself a favor and stick forks in your eyes for 90 minutes instead of seeing this movie. You'll have more fun and save yourself some cash. |
