I saw On Broadway last night at the Independent Film Festival in Boston. I loved it. It is a small, low budget movie that does not feel stunted. I loved the story of the young man expressing his grief for his beloved uncle by writing and producing a play about his uncle's wake. The characters seemed like real Boston residents, the people with whom I wait in line at Dunkin Donuts. The movie was done with a low budget but shot beautifully around Boston. The cast was very talented. Joey McIntyre as the playwright, Lance Greene as his cousin, and Lucas Caleb Rooney as their lifelong friend were particularly good, but the entire cast put in strong performances. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a moving yet sometimes funny movie about a family coming to terms with themselves and with their grief. |
