Hitchcock ending
by mark b (movies profile)
Sep 13, 2008
What passes as a decent foray into the gray areas of rationalization by people doing dirty deeds ultimately fails because of an ending from a different movie.
Had the steam of the narrative been thriller then the ending would have made sense, but this film is about coming to grips with a lapse in moral judgement. Allen's Crimes and Misdemenors was unforgettable because of his decision to not make a "movie" but here he makes a film for 3/4 of the running time and then all of a sudden decides to make a movie. |
