One missed call is one of those movies that in previews can look really interesting, even for a horror flick. But this modern twist to a horror movie; the use of cell phones to lay out the strange deaths of these people who are all related in some way; gets too sci-fi. Why do all of these Japanese horror flicks always take this weird monster approach. Something that is not believeable at all. When you go that far, you begin to lose the interest of the audience.
In this plot you get a strange death of a girl at the beginning of the movie. She drowns in a foot deep landscape pond in her back yard. Then soon after a contact in her cell phone gets a call tell of their death giving them the exact day and time. Then that person dies and a contact from their phone is next on the list. Meanwhile a friend of the first girl who died and is connected to all of these others seems to know the answer but doesn't know exactly why. With the help of the police, she is figuring it out. But can she find out before her own fateful time is up from the call she has received?
Don't waste your money in the theater to find out...watch it at your friend's slumber party...you won't foot the bill then! |
