Indictment of the slide of the West

The hero of the movie could be the perfect Westerner, as in the Westerns, despite being chinese: Driven to success, hard working, proud, believing in his ability to make it to the top. Believing in morality (as in the part where he is talking with the "follower" student).
But... he is an outsider, therefore could be easily crushed unless he obeys.
Unfortunately, that is the story of Western society since it begun its slow decline since the mid 1980's. It is NOT about the mind of a mass murderer (although the hero obviously is).
Unfortunately the reviewers of the movie not willing to accept any criticism, tried to do the same to the movie as was done to the student: disregard it as weired without trying to understand. |
