A solid Cheadle performance. Sheen camps it up as the station owner and portrays a perfectly flummoxed businessman clearly out of his league when Petey arrives on the scene. The effective use of historical news and Carson footage bolstered by a kick ass soundtrack (incuding the seminal Less McCann/Eddie Harris "Compared to What") moves the film along nicely with few hiccups. Expect a surge in soul and R&B sales. |
