Are you kidding me?? This movie had so much potential with being able to actually see the bidding in action & the girls being tortured this time. Was it just me or did this feel like a spoof to every other horror. Like the ending for example - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? I won't ruin it for anyone, but ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
After watching the 1st one, I came out of the theater just in shock, awe, disgust..... After coming out of this one, it was more disgust, but disgust that I wasted $12 on this.
I kept expecting for something to happen, just anything to happen. Did anyone care about these girls - It got to a point, where it was like - PLEASE, kill them, do anything, and shut the hell up. Maybe it was me, but I could have cared less about what happened to them. Sure, some parts were a little disturbing, but to compare it to the gore of the 1st one? I read an article on how Eli Roth compares his movies/ideas to the Saw franchise, and he must have missed the boat when coming up with this script. Overall, I love the whole premise of Hostel & the first one still creeps the hell out of me, but let's end this series now. When the reviews by critics came out giving it a terrible rating, I thought that it's just like a typical critic - comparing a horror like this to another film that is trying to win an Oscar, but this was almost 91 minutes too long. Here's hoping Eli Roth finds his way into his own Hostel so he won't subject us to any more of this crap. Go see Shrek 3 or Spider-man or whatever the hell else is playing & definitely wait for video. |
