Suspense is a lovely word, tension built up through scenes in movies leads to this. Hostel 2 must have forgotten to add some.
The same old story as the first, rehashed by Director/Writer/So called saviour of the horror genre Eli Roth. Everybody knows where these people are heading but Mr Roth wishes to devote 45 minutes to getting them there again. The boredom takes over so fast when watching this film. Nothing at all happens up until the torture scenes which are considerably mild compared to the first.
Horror films should scare you, horror should have an ounce of passion behind them in the director to do this. This movie is void of any scares and treats you to a frog dissection class, where the frog is replaced by humans. That's not scary, that's a simple visual of any abattoir across the land. Please try and scare people when making horror, The Thing managed to do this back in 1982 - so why can't the saviour of horror 25 (yes 25) years after?
Terrible acting, no story, hardly any plot. This film is basically a study in how NOT to direct horror. If this is the saviour of horror then let's never make another film again in the genre.
It was about as boring as watching a family slide show for 10 hours on end. Avoid at all costs and go and watch a real horror film. |
