My husband and I attended a free screening of this movie last year. The director was there as well as other people involved in the making of Hannibal Rising. At the end of the movie, the audience was asked to fill a long and detailed survey which covered every category from acting to directing to music. In summary, I thought the movie was a bomb. Most of the acting was exaggerated, the movie dragged out, and the screenplay was ridiculous. I was almost certain that Hannibal Rising would not even make it to DVD and the director would decide to scrap it. Now I see that they've released the film despite the surveys. Silence of the Lambs was genuine and stimulating. Silence of the Lambs is a filet mignon and Hannibal Rising is beef jerky (for lack of a better animal friendly comparison). |
