I've never written a review before, but just came out of a free screening, and felt obligated to make an entry to warn anyone who might have been tempted by all the hype. Apparently I saw a different movie than everyone else.

The movie starts off slow, but after you survive the character development for a while, it seems to get some traction, and I actually started to take some interest in the two main characters and where this could go. But after the main turn, it becomes completely consumed by tragedy for tragedy's sake. The novelty of the shifting lighting and music set to the beat of a typewriter, and the leaping timelines became monotonous after the fifth time. I saw the end coming a mile away, but was still hoping for some unexpected, "poigniant" effort by the girl to truly ATONE for what she had done and make the two hours all worthwhile, but her "kind thing to do" rationale missed the target by a mile.

Obviously I'm too shallow and obtuse to grasp this fine artistic masterpiece the pros saw. What a waste. Guess I'll sit home and wait for Transformers II...
