Vantage Point takes on Groundhog Day

The president has been shot, oh my god what shall we do. Well lets take a look at it from 8 points of view as if we the audience didn't see it the first time. Vantage Point comes along with probably the most anticipated action thriller so far this year. It basically starts off with the peace summit that takes place somewhere in Spain. Then just when you think all is well the President is down. Then it takes a twisted turnaround for the rest of the movie. It then goes into the views of 8 other people. Then you wonder half the time if these characters in real life would actually do something like this for an example trying to investigate a crime scene with only using a camcorder and a bunch of mislead leads. Then just as the movie rolls along its back to the same scene again. For the rest of the movie its just groundhog day redone. A different point of view and a different lead. Then by the conclusion it all comes to a very disappointing didn't really pull it together end. Overall I was expecting this film to be a very good one just by watching the trailer but god sometimes I wonder if the trailer is better than the movie itself. Just the fact that you need to see a investigation about 16 times you just get tired of it. It fails to really capture the overall point of the story and you kind of left with nothing at the end. With some good action scenes and some ok acting I would probably just skip this movie period. After watching this movie I would rather watch Sunny and Cher sing to Bill Murray everyday on the radio than watching this movie. Very poorly written and just an overall disappointing attempt to get the audiences attention a RingTerror C- |
