I'd never heard of Tyler Perry, or any of the cast of this movie outside of Lou Gossett, but they did a real nice job. The girl playing the lawyer was very CUTE. I had a little problem believing that she would have trouble finding a date, but the lead man in the movie was a good looking athlete with a great heart, so I could almost believe she could fall for him. The ex-wife did a good job of playing her part as the nasty wench. I thought they did a good job with the church scene, making it realistic without shoving religion down anyone's throat. I didn't get as choked up here as I did recently at Freedom Writers, but it was a real nice touching movie. It kind of had a made-for-tv feel to it, like it wasn't a big studio picture, but that may have added to the charm. I would have liked to have the girl lawyer character make it clear that she wasn't for quick sex out of marriage, but other than that it was fairly wholesome. Nice movie. |
