I have enjoyed all of Tyler Perry's other movies and plays, but felt that this one totally missed the mark. I was very disappointed in this movie for several reasons. 1) There were gaps in the storyline that prevented a smooth flow of the movie. 2) There were blatant inconsistencies in the friends and their advise. An example would be setting up Gabrielle Union with an unemployed 40-year-old rapper, but advising her not to date Monty, a mechanic who is trying to get custody of his 3 girls. 3) The storyline was unrealistic.
I notice that the majority of users have given this movie an extremely high rating, but is it because it's a Black movie, or because they really enjoyed it? I'm all for supporting our Black movies, but let's rate them factually so that others don't leave the theatre disappointed. |
