a lot of people say that they hate this movie because it is all about a sixteen year old girl getting tortured. they say it is too graphic and disturbing. however it was a TRUE STORY! it was TRUE EVENTS!! yes sylvia likens was locked in a basement and tortured by her caretaker gertrude, gertrude's family, and neighborhood kids while her sister could not do anything except watch. yes the torturers took glee out of beating, branding, and sexually abusing her. yes she died. yes there is no happy ending especially because after the sadistic bitches went to jail for this they eventually got out. is this movie gruesome yes it is. is this movie disturbing yes it is. will it make u sick? probably. but it is TRUE! there is no sugarcoating a true story of a girl being tortured. it is impossible. if the movie wasnt the way it is then it wouldnt be true. and that would make it a horrible film. but the acting, the plot, the visuals, all of that was amazing! dont forget that. |
