Who am I to doubt the critics?

Every highbrow critic thought this movie was akin to a contemporary masterpiece. Who am I to doubt the critics? But I can tell you this. The people I heard talking about the movie all seemed to agree that the plot was either too vague or nonsensical. For example: At the beginning of the movie, where did the killer come from? How was he captured so easily? And don't they handcuff criminals BEHIND their backs? Next, where did the three Mexicans come from when they were sitting in Brolin's motel room? I guess they followed the transponder, but why didn't they take the money and why were they just sitting there waiting to be shot? Next, what was all that nonsense about grownups buying shirts from adolescents? Finally, where did the money wind up? Who got it? And how did the psychopath just limp away from the scene of a serious accident and nobody noticed him? Who is that old man in the wheelchair that Tommy Lee Jones visited? And what was that pathetic ending? It wasn't stark realism, but rather the absence of content. Look, I go to the movies to be amused and sometimes enlightened. I am willing to be challenged within reason. But I have two Ivy League degrees and if I can't understand the plot then it is either too complicated or, as in this case, too full of holes. Sorry, but that's my opinion.
