This is a modern Disney movie of a family torn apart and brought together by a treasure hunt.
Well, not quite, but basically yes. The beauty of this movie is juxtaposition. The house, originally a single house in an orchard, but now surrounded by developments. The girl, looking at the little family next store -- not a word is spoken, but you can hear her screaming "why can't my family be like that"?
This film speaks droves about family life, and most of all parental/child relations. Any parent having difficulty talking should bring his teen to see the movie with him. I guarantee it will open a channel...
Acting, visuals, plot but most of all, it's social commentary that is broader than just the people it showcases make this a must see. |
