This is a very very good movie -the story, all true, is beautiful, dramatic, inspiring and a whirlwind of 1,000 more emotions... Marion Cotillard's performance is absolutely amazing, and the rest of the cast doesn't let her down.
Edith Piaf was a great singer, who is still known today, even though she has been dead for decades. Her voice and her interpretation made her songs eternall.
All this helped the movie be a success in France; however, here in the US, where Edith Piaf is known by a handful of people, the attraction will come from somewhere else. I saw the movie in French; I do not know how this will be dubbed, or if the songs are dubbed or not, but this is a beautiful movie with a great story.
Don't go if you just like action movies, or scary movies; but if you want to witness the life of an amazing singer who lived a "bigger than life" life, then go there, you won't be disappointed. |
