i don't go to many movies, and i don't watch tv at all. i am easily offended by violence, grossness, and crudity. well, chris' movie made me laugh. a lot. it hit home many times. the main characters were all great, all interesting - his wife, nikki, her ex-boy friend, ex-ex-boy friend, the office buddy, boss, secretaries, etc. for perspective, i haven't seen "Chloe," apparently the movie's model. there was a lot to talk about the movie afterwards with my friend - she suggested it - it was a kind of date. i have read some other reviews. no "pro" reviewer seems to have been as amused as i by the scene in the elevator with the kid obliviously "singing" the lyrics loudly and with such enjoyment, "***** the cracker, and ***** his bitches" - it was such a hilarious over-the-top parody of sterotypic hiphop in itself, aside from the significance of the main character cringing in the elevator full of horrified colleagues, and juxtaposition with the sequel of the white kid doing the same tune. In fact, i want that "tune": "***** the cracker." Was it written just for the movie? I couldn't find it on the web. i want to play it for people as a joke. i want to perform it myself - I loved it!
I was also greatly amused by the short vignettes of the main character imagining himself single again, picking up chicks with such classic lines as "want to ***** me, bitch?" quite amusing! delightful! i will remember this movie. it affected me. it moved me. |
