Well, I saw the trailers and instantly thought that it looked very appealing. I logged on today to find that it was recieving D's and F's, so I was very saddened. I bit the bullet and went out and saw it today and I am very glad I did. The story is a great one that goes much further than just 10 inmates enter, only 1 can leave. There is teamwork, tons of twists, and an 2 underlying stories. The acting is both great and lacking. Some characters don't do very hot, while others fit the characters very well. The direction of the movie is where I felt was lacking the most. I don't feel that the fight scenes were very well filmed, and it showed as the camera was tossed around instead of having better choreography. The visuals were very good I felt, because it gave you a sense that you were really there on this island with the convicts. Overall, I felt this was a movie that did much better than my already lofty expectations. I certainly think a D or F is way too harsh for the job that was done. I recommend this film highly. B+ overall. |
