Powerful and Real!

Real-Life War coming to you from real-life soldiers who have been there. This documentary is pretty good in comparison to other war-related documentaries I've seen. However, you must take into consideration that much of the video that was actually shot by these 3 National Guardsmen was sensored by their commander. None the less, if you pay close attention, you'll get a good idea of what war can do to a man and what our men and women are seeing over there. Many of you current military members and vets will be able to relate to a lot of this. I know I did.
PROS: Not an "all-talk" documentary. You see some powerful footage. The film also shows the phases of these soldiers from being a kid before deployment, the stress of being in Iraq, to coming home and feeling odd about it. No-holds barred with the views of the soldiers.
CONS: Much of what was filmed was sensored by the Army (and they do explain this in the film too). Because of this, it almost seems as if there is definitely a slant to the documentary. |
