A friend and I just saw Earth. It was awful. She and I both hated the movie. We are both avid movie fans, and this is just not what you'd expect from Disney.
Do not take your kids, and do not go yourself. Do not get me wrong, the cinematography is great - do rent it as a DVD. But turn off the sound! The story line is horrible.
Every story is about struggle, death, impending disaster, starvation, dying of thirst, and everything awful that can go wrong in the wild. There is no joy, only misery. Shortly after the movie starts, your stomach will already be in knots with anxiety.
A small boy leaving the theater in front of us said, "mom, was that a good movie? it was so sad!" There were very few moments of awe, of grandeur, of feeling connected to the Earth. Do not go to this movie! Spare yourself the unending feelings of anxiety. The storyline is so overwhelmingly full of death that you'll be too stressed out to enjoy the great cinematography. |
