First, off let me say that I was excited to see this movie as I loved the Planet Earth series and enjoy nature documetaries, but this movie is just repackaged and recycled footage.
The majority of the scenes I have seen before on Planet Earth series or some other TLC, Discovery Channel, etc documentary. There is hardly anything new in this movie.
The movie is Rated G and it doesnt show the animals killing their prey, the hunting scenes were sanitized for the kid audience.
It really feels uninspired after about 15 minutes because you sit there and think, where did I see this scene before? Especially, that lion hunting the elephant in the dark, the polar bear attacking the walruses, etc.
Also the movie is short. I asked how long it is and they said an 1 hour and 45 minutes. The movie started at 4:55pm with like 7-8 minutes of previews, and it was over by 622pm. To me thats like 1 hour and 20 minutes?? are they counting the credits as run time? Also the last 3 minutes of the movie they basically recap the whole movie with stuff they already showed you, this got me really dissappointed. Because it really put into stone that this movie just doesnt deliver.
Dont waste your money on this repackaged Planet Earth movie. It is unispired and geared towards children i.e. Rated G. Just rent the Planet Earth Series. What a dissapointment, and waste of money. |
