breaking this down by cateGORY;
story)an homeage horror movies done in man bites dog style where killer has his own film crew to document his acts.difference here,movie icons such as jason,michael and freddy are real killers.leslie looks up to them as his idols.theres a ton of talking and setting up (did tarantino get his big head involved in this ?!?!?!?) before any horror happens.
acting)was ok.not horrible,not memorable.didnt affect me not liking this.the lead was good but not convincing.
directing)horrible !!!! he messed up what should have been an unmessupable premiss with blueprints readily available.
visuals)again,not horrible,not memorable.
overall)i feel this is a wannabe franchise in the making.i type this because there was so little mayhem that they didnt want to shoot their load,so to speak,in the opening chapter.if this is the only leslie vernon movie,then this deserves a resounding F. |
