I saw a cut of this film for the SXSW festival and didn't know what to expect. Man, what a ride! I had seen Nathan Baesel from the now cancelled ABC TV show Invasion last year. I though he was excellent in that - he played the one armed sheriff.

Here it looks like they allowed him to take some risks with this character and it pays off. Leslie (Nathan) is charismatic, disarmingly charming, and dedicated. You know how you ask a kid what he wants to be when he grows up and the kid gets that dreamy, faraway look in his eyes and says he wants to be a pro wrestler or something? Leslie passionately wants to be a serial killer. He thinks his chosen profession is just the universe's way of bringing balance. A baby is born, a virgin must die... You know, harmony.

Don't miss Robert Englund (Freddie Krueger) and Zelda Rubenstein (Poltergeist). There are other casting surprises for horror fans.

This is funny, dark and has some great twists. I won't give it away, though. You're just going to have to see it. I guess since it's an indy film - you're going to have to get lucky and have it show near you. Hopefully enough people will want to go and they'll give it a wider release.
