Ben Kingsley rules in this farcical take on an alcoholic mobster from Buffalo's Polish crime family. If you know anything about 12 step programs in general or AA in particlular, you should NOT miss this one. Kingsley can slay you with look and have you laughing until it hurts. Recovery is about getting your life back even if that means so you can go back to killing for a living. Tea Leone is fine as the love interest who buys into the whole scheme and the supporting cast certainly help to keep the story moving. But you should go see it if for no other reason that to see Ben Kingsley in a wonderful comedic role. |
