While I generally agree with SHANMARQ, a fellow Yahoo-User Reviewer, and her excellent observation that this film is much more than its obvious suspense/crime/robbery thread, that it is an "astute commentary on sex discrimination in society and the greediness of insurance companies," I specifically, and most vehemently, disagree that the men of Generation X "have become as sexist as their grandfathers" as depicted in this film. While the world of diamond trading, banking, and indemnity investments have always been a man's world, today's man in America is no more sexist than his urban, professional female counterpart. In fact, I believe him less sexist than most women today. Daytime and most of network prime-time television, magazines and print ads, the fashion and cosmetics industry, the so-called women's rights movement, and the abortion industrial complex (all industries created for, run by, and targeted to women) have all quite viciously seen to it that no man can maintain a traditional masculine role and point of view and contribute anything worthy in their estimation. What's worse is that all of those things have managed to produce not the much-bandied "powerful woman" so ubiquitously pronounced in every corner of society, but ugly, manly women. They have turned women into men. Being a Gen-X male, I am astounded at how many of my counterparts lack a pair when it comes to the women in their lives (mothers, sisters, wives, girlfriends, etc.), so successful at emasculating the male have been the modern women of today. And if a man decides to assert his role in and responsibility to society today, he is labeled a hater, a war-monger, a bully, or worse, a babbling idiot. Ms. SHANMARQ, I'll have you know I love women, especially those under proper subjection to a real man. No greater picture of feminity is there compared to that, unless of course, you are Demi Moore in FLAWLESS for whose beautiful, feminine, excellent performance I give a resounding A+.
