It may not be for all audiences. Those who prefer linear storylines should stay clear of this movie, but those who like a well-crafted and impeccably paced tale should not miss it. The action shifts back and forth between Canada and Greece, and that alone adds to the rich visual texture of the film. The contrast between the gloomy Canadian apartment and the expansiveness of the Mediterranean is a metaphor for the self-discovery journey that takes Jacob from boyhood to middle age; from the darkest corners of his soul to his final redemption. |
