My kids have been looking forward to this film since they first saw the preview, which depicts it as a fun and adventurous family movie. The preview does not give any indication of the lengthy scenes of cannon fire upon the title character. In the end, no one is killed or maimed (on screen), but the extended scenes of peril were too much for my little ones. It also portrays the army in a rather unflattering light, which may be a problem for military families. There certainly were fun parts, lovely scenery, and cool special effects, though. |
