I saw this movie with my children ages 5, 7 and 9, my husband and parents, and we all enjoyed it. My 71-year-old father hasn't seen a "kids' movie" in a long time so he was skeptical, but he was willing to give it a try for the grandkids. Once Angus found the egg, he was hooked.
Were there some unbelievable aspects of the story? Yes. Is it likely that the commander would be applauding the safety of "the beast" when his own men were being harmed? Yes.
But there was no tidy ending in terms of the human relationships in the story, there were aspects that were not at all predictable and the special effects were fantastic. These were elements that we appreciated.
Our 3-generation family loved this movie. It was fun to watch, it was suspenseful and the scenery was gorgeous. We will be recommending it to friends. |
