I got luckily, I was able to see this movie last night at 12:01, and I’m so glad I chose this flick. Mr. Brooks is the story of a seemingly perfect man with a dark side (he is a ravenous serial killer). And until now he has been able to keep his two sides from colliding , but his alter ego Marshall played by William Hurt wants out, and after committing a violent murder, he finds out he was caught on film by a calculating photographer played by Dane Cook. And if that weren’t bad enough Mr. Brooks has a detective Tracy Atwood played by Demi Moore hot on his heels. This movie was smart, well thought out, and perfectly casted. It also has some scenes of strong violence(similar to the violence in “History of Violence“), a true adult thriller. But even with the violence and sex it doesn’t take away from the storyline, it was well done and appropriate for the movie. I knew Kevin Costner and William Hurt were amazing actors, but Dane Cook really stepped up to the plate and delivered. I truly recommend this movie for the smart movie goer who wants a challenge and a story the will keep you on pins and needles, and an ending that will truly satisfy. |
