Don't get me wrong. I enjoy historical fiction as much as the next person, and of course that is what this movie is. I did not enjoy this one for personal reasons, but any person of the street who does not feel as strongly as I do about the story of Elizabeth will enjoy its sexual tention and overwhelming drama. I must mention that if you saw and enjoyed the HBO version with Helen Mirren that it will probably not live up to your expectations. While Cate Blanchett is very good in her portrayal of Elizabeth, I believe no one can top Mirren's. Overall if you are just going to this movie for a good time then you will enjoy it. |
