I had the privilege to see this movie at a premier. Originally I had not planned to go otherwise except to just support Eddie Murphy. Immediately after I got home I call 5 of my closes friends and family and told them to go! I read some of the reviews before deciding to post a message. You should go to a comedy if you know how to have a good time and to laugh. I don't go to action movies for drama and I don't go to comedies for seriousness - I go to comedies to laugh. I laughed from the time the movie started until the end of the movie where I sat in the seat watching the credits wanting more! I have seen all of Eddie Murphy's movies and I know that he is talented! I am glad that he can show he is capable of being fabulous in a movie like Dream Girls and at the same time being Eddie - a comedian/actor. If there was a best comedy - he would get my vote! We have all seen women of all shapes and sizes - I did not laugh because the character he was portraying was heavy - I laughed because what he did as he played her was hilarious! There were also great actors & comedians in the movie like Cuba Gooding, Eddie Griffith and Kat Williams! It was a great way for a business woman like myself to unwind after a busy day at my company. Congrats Eddie on your deserved success! |
