And part of me really does, but another part is a little more hopeful and 'gushy.' I was expecting a great sci-fi experience with something to do with aliens or time travel. I got that, but with a lot of leftist environmentalist boo-crap. I can deal with some since I am a biologist, but they really pushed my limit with this one. I want to protect the earth and all, but the only way we will be 'ONE' with it is when we die and become mulch. We will always have an impact on the planet and if we don't then the rest of the animals and plants will. Although I did like their inclusion of 'cultural' pollution, just as or more destructive than 'environmental' pollution.
So aside from that pretentious crap, it was a fun movie with an ingenious storyline and beautiful visuals. Really does inspire you at times.
The mother's acting was obtrusive at times and her character overreacted too much (needs some valium) and so did the government, but I guess that's the world we live in today.
P.S. Animals can have two heads for many reasons, not much different from siamese twins. We have very short memories these days. |
