First, I'd like to join all the other commentators who say that Al Pacino is great in any movie he takes part in (it's just that some movies are so bad that even his presence can't help). As for this one, it was pretty good. It had the kind of a plot where you have a limited number of characters and you suspect each of them one after another, and in the end it turns out to be someone you suspected least of all.(No, it's not a spoiler, it's just how all such movies work) The good things about this movie were: it was fast, surprising, and had Al Pacino in it . The bad thing (at least for me) was that the plot was not convincing - what looked most funny to me, for example, was how the main character was driving around the city a number of times during the 88 minutes that he had, and it seemed that the driving time didn't count, otherwise there's no way he could have visited so many places in 88 minutes. Or, I don't know, maybe all the places in Seattle (I think it was Seattle) are one minute of driving from each other?? There were some other timing and logical problems in the plot, that we couldn't put together even after the movie. But it's just a movie - so if you don't watch it thinking "That wouldn't work like that in real life!", you can enjoy it. (Not nessesarily in a theater, by the way, it's a kind of a movie that can be watched at home just as well, there were no great visuals that have to be seen on a wide screen or something like that...) |
