Hip-Hop is art!

I loved that this film showed hip-hop as a true art form where self-expression can lead to healing and personal transformation!
In a world where mainstream hip-hop has normalized what was once a marginalized aspect of the art form (i.e. gangsta rap), it’s refreshing to watch a challenge to the dominant paradigm that what is popular is all hip-hop is or ever was.
Everyone won't get it. I challenge folks to think outside of your own experiences and see this film as what it is, a group of people (children and adults) finding voice through art. |
