A new view on life
by TR (movies profile)

When I hear about people telling others that a movie changed their life, attitudes, and beliefs, I always roll my eyes thinking they are over dramatic or easily influenced.
I guess I'll be a hypocrite and say, this movie has given me a new view on life, and hate.
I've grown up hating so many groups of people. From Jews, blacks, Mexicans, Middle Eastern, Indians, etc. Why? I never knew, I guess maybe influences from others around me who are racist and close minded.
I used to always want to be a Nazi, thinking that it was an outstanding way to show your alliance to the 'brotherhood'.
I guess watching the movie really showed me how stupid it sounds to hate a group, for no reason. Especially when it showed the little girls on TV telling the interviewer that Martyrdom was better then peace or anything.
This has really put into perspective how much we turn a blind eye, and deaf ear. Then I sat there angry, why don't the Jews fight back?
It isn't about fighting, its about acceptance. This showed me that. It took a long time for it to really hit me, but it really literally as cliche as it sounds, hurt my heart, to see something so wrong, continue, with no one stopping it. |
