Loved it. Frank Langella and Lili Taylor should win awards for this. You forget you're watching actors. Unfortunately, the part of the student was cast by persona rather than acting chops, and the film falters during her scenes, though not for her lack of trying. But she tries too hard, unlike the others for whom it seems to flow from some inner place.
I saw it twice. I'm also a sucker for Upper West Side NYC locales, and this film was a major treat in that respect.
Great story, beautiful cinematography and first rate acting with noted exception. |
