I enjoyed watching this movie as much as any that I've seen in quite a while. In my opinion everything clicked on all levels. The story, screenplay, directing, actors, soundtrack... everything. Relationship and life issues were portrayed and filmed in emotionally powerful and yet beautifully subtle ways.
I came upon this movie at the video store. In retrospect, the very small, almost invisible, shelf space allowed for this movie at the store was poignantly sad and seemed to blur the line between where a movie ends and where reality begins. Leonard's great novels and career all but forgotten by a public that has moved onto other things... and a great movie that many people might miss and unfortunately not see. |
