Hilarious scenes but disappointing plot

As much as I love the show Reno 911 I was a disappointed by the movie. In my opinion it strayed too far from the formula that makes the show so great (many short scenes with the characters finding them selves dealing with different situations). Although there were some really hilarious scenes, the time it took to build up to these punch lines seemed to drag. The scenes that were focused on telling the plot of the movie were the most unentertaining parts. The best parts of the movie were when the characters were split up in to pairs just doing their thing as they do in the show. This is when the chemistry between the characters really hit their comedic potential. Unfortunately the story did not utilize this but instead relied too much on very graphic sexual humor. To sum it up, this movie is really funny; however it did not live up to its potential. |
