I read a review saying that McBride was funny in Drillbit Taylor, but was too much of a "jerky jerk" in Foot Fist Way. If you agree with this statement, then, if I may use a line from the movie, you are "the king of the dumbest f***ing kingdom." If you found that statement funny, then you will love Foot Fist Way. It's a smart comedy, it really is, and the people who get hung up on "F-bombs" and stuff like that really shouldn't be watching INDEPENDENT COMEDIES ANYWAY. Or comedies with a RATED R attached to them. The "effers" didn't take away from the movie at all, it enhanced it amazingly, and brought out the truth in the movie - the creative exposure of a world we have all dabbled in as a youth - the martial arts world. In all honesty, if you're interested in writing comedy then this movie should be on the top of your list. In an age where big name actors dominate the Sundance Film Festival, the fact that this was played (during a time in which no one knew who the ***** McBride, Jody Hill or Ben Best were) is enough for you to watch it. You have all the right in the world to not like this film, but anyone giving this film a "1 star" or lower than a C review is a complete idiot who obviously is much more comfortable watching syndicated comedy. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm just saying, know your likes and dislikes before you fly off the handle with *****ty reviews. |
