Enjoyed it a lot. The humor is passive and mostly in the characters (like the show "The Office") rather than the "look, I made a big poopy in my diaper" or "I said a naughty word over and over" humor of most recent comedies.
It has a low-budget documentary feel with sappy characters played by unknown actors and a corny, self-discovery storyline that could easily make it a very entertaining weekly sitcom on Comedy Central (with the Bama Slamma as a recurring "nemesis" character, lol).
Looking forward to more work from this crew and Danny McBride.
PS - If you are an anal-retentive, psuedo-intellectual "Seattle"-type person (like the first reviewer), then you probably won't enjoy this. |
