This is the first movie ever made that describes what it is to be a rehab counselor. Its based on the life story of Richard Pimentel who in real life is an incredible and inspiring public speaker. It inspires but is not just an inspirational movie. It is funny, sad, and profound. This film brings to life the prejudices that inspired the disability rights movement. Unfortunately more people will probably go to see Saw 4 than this movie. Unfortunately the army is still playing games with the lives of soldiers when they return from the war. Research the use of pre existing personality disorders diagnosis. instead of acknowledging the number of post traumatic stress disorders that exist after the Iraq war. There are parts of this film that bring to mind Forest Gump. The acting is really of high quality. Michael Sheen may outdo Daniel Day-Lewis in his depiction of a person with severe Cerebral Palsy. |
