Wash and Richard own their style - and it shows up on screen. You feel the movie, and the characters and story are real. The big studios can't duplicate this because so much of their work is based on focus groups and formulas. Original creative comes from the soul - not the marketing department. While Quinceanera is no "Gone with the Wind", it does speak to us with real pathos. You will laugh and cry. It will be a few hours where you enter a different world, and then leave with a better understanding of the characters, and some new feelings about your own life. That's worth the price of a movie ticket these days - and to tell the big studios we want more better films, and to encourage film makers like Wash and Richard to continue to provide us with options to formulaic trash... |
