When you call a movie WAR and you get this kind of cast together, you can only think one thing. OMFG!!! But think Hero here. They want to tell a story of a Rogue and a man who wants revenge for his partner, and you think again OMFG!!! Transporter guy vs The One guy. But what they do instead is give you a drama, and then like any writer who was past his deadline just start throwing twists in at the end.
Instead of the all out war, you have a few gun battles, the worst car chase scene I've seen in recent memory, and on top of that, so many cut scenes where the violence seems edited out or they didn't want to pay up for the CG or special effects so insetad you get blood splatter or cut scene to the guy dead on the ground.
People making movies forget their target audiences sometimes, and I think this is what happened. Even with the rating, this movie is made for 15-30 year old who are part of that smash em bash em generation and while it does produce some great battles, nothing that will stick out while you are talking with your buddies about the greatest fight scenes ever.
This movie was focused on the story and the story was weak, they keep forgetting if i'm in there for 99 minutes, why do I care who lives or dies? Give me a reason, and they failed to make that happen. I recommend to wait for this on DVD. |
