The Emotions are REAL

Yes, some of the plotlines (i.e., getting engaged within hours of meeting, and an all-too convenient convergence of all the major characters and their therapists! with one another) are somehwat far-fetched, but the emotions felt and expressed so well by all of the characters are about as real as I've ever seen in a movie. Ira's insecurity at having to "share" the wonderful qualities of his outgoing, friendly, helpful wife with the whole world. Abby's ill-fated "hopeless romantic", yet oh, so in touch persona. Both of the couple's neurotic, insecure parents and their therapists... all of whom are lookin for somehwat different forms of happinnes via very different vehicles.
The movie is brilliant if for no other reason that you are virtually guaranteed to strongly identify with the emotions, fears, concerns or passions of at least one character in the film.
An emtotional masterpiece plagues only by some of the fantastic, unrealistic plotlines.
