This movie is priceless in its showing of life in
the present day Russian Federation. It gives the
viewer an unadulterated view of the conditions of the Russian middle class. From the flamboyant adoption agent, handing out bribes to the Police, to the squalid conditions the people live in, this film is a no nonsense view into everyday Russian life. The main character, and his courage, at such a young age, will touch the heart of all, save the most hard and jaded of viewers. The story is easy to follow, and the dubbing is of good quality. The young actor that plays the part of Vanya should have an great future in the movie industry, as his delivery shows great ability for one so young. The scene where the desperate Vanya draws his own blood is heart wrenching. The scenes showing the conditions inside the orphanage are quite telling
of the conditions these poor little ones must
endure. A must see for Westerners that think they
have it bad. |
